Sorry for the Silence - What's Next


Hey Shadows fans,

Just wanted to update you guys on what's coming during this extended period between updates.

1 - Open World

We're starting on implementing our first tests of the open world. I am currently building out the neighborhoods in which a quest derived from our demo story mode will take place. The earliest version of this will become available to test in P0.5, alongside the old demo campaign. This will eventually replace the demo campaign entirely when the quest version is comparable. In the early open world tests, you will be able to modify your stats and unlock abilities freely.

2 - Multiplayer

I've been hard at work replicating various functionality. It's mostly background work at this time but stay tuned for our first multiplayer playtests in the coming weeks.

3 - Parkour

We've begun the process of introducing Mirror's Edge style parkour mechanics to our movement to up the intensity, variety, tactility and immersivity of our movement and world. Obstacle detection and motion warping is in, we are working on acquiring and integrating good animations for this system now.

4 - Offhand Abilities and Weapons

This feature will be in the works immediately after parkour and rounds off our combat mechanics beautifully, bringing in grenades, gadgets, akimbo and magic.
